What is FAAIS?
The purposes of the Florida Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Society
are:
- to promote the highest quality of care for the patient with
allergic, asthmatic and immunologic diseases;
- to advance the knowledge and practice of allergy, asthma and
immunology by education of medical professionals;
- to represent the interests of the membership of this Society to
regional, state and national medical and allergy, asthma and immunology
societies;
- to educate the public in the field of allergy, asthma and
immunology.
Current Projects:
Annual Meeting - FAAIS conducts a scientific meeting in
June of each year to educate both the physicians and their staff.
Continued Medical Education (CME) credits are earned by each
attending physician and Contact Hours are earned by nurses and
office staff.
Primary Care Resident Conference on Allergy, Asthma &
Immunology - This conference is conducted by FAAIS to introduce
second year primary care residents to the field of Allergy, Asthma &
Immunology.
Patient Advocacy - FAAIS composes, publishes and
circulates "Position Statements" to insure quality patient care and
access, within the patient's health insurance plans/programs, to our
specialty.
